Peekapak includes a great card just for grown ups.  This month's Peekapak is about an Ocean Adventure.  Kids will learn about perseverance and giving in this box.  Peekapak goes into detail about what your child will be learning.  They also help you, the parent, know how to help facilitate learning with the box.  I love this aspect of the box, because I love teaching my children, but it doesn't come natural for me.

Peekapak included a cute book and craft/activity guide with the box.  This month's story was all about the ocean.

The first activity was make you own Ocean Lantern.

IMG_8550

Peekapak included EVERYTHING your child needs to complete the crafts.  They even include scissors.  I didn't get pictures of putting this project together.  L made squares with the popsicle sticks and glued it all together.

Finished Lantern.  The lantern also came with a little light!

The second project was to make a Sea Turtle Hat.

IMG_8547

There were many steps to this project.   You child draws a pattern on the hat with a white crayon, then pants the hat with green paint.  Your child cuts out the body parts, and glues it all together.

025

I love all the steps to the projects.  L really had to work (cutting, gluing etc) to put together each project.  I was really impressed with L's cutting skills.

Painting the shell

017

Finished Turtle Hat!

The last project was the easiest.  This was a project to make two octopus toys.  You child stuffs socks, cuts off the ends and makes eyes.

This all the materials and the pair of scissors.

Putting the rubber band on.

Putting the eyes on:  The only problem we ran into, is we didn't have enough white felt for the eyes.  We improvised and used part of the white sock, to make eyes.

Final Thought: This was a really great box.  All the projects had multiple steps and really challenged L to use his skills.  L loved the story and I liked how all the crafts fit with the story.  I love how Peekapak really included information for parents to help further their child's learning.  If you are interested in trying Peekapak, click HERE and use the code Subscriptionboxmom to save $5.00 on your first box.  Peekapak is also giving a box to one of my readers.  Just enter below!
