Taste Trunk recently changed their boxes, and I love the new look. They have a faux wood trunk look. Each box ships in a priority mail box, to help protect it during shipping.
Taste Trunk wraps everything so neatly. This month, they chose a St Patrick's Day theme.
Elki Savory Crackers: These are thin and crispy. They have a great onion taste and are tasty by themselves. They would be even better with some cheese! I would buy these again for parties. Taste Trunk included a recipe for hot reuben dip, to go with the crackers.
Lillie's Q Barbecue Sauce – Ivory: I have never seen white bbq sauce before. This comes from a restaurant in Chicago. This is a sweet and tangy sauce with cajun spices. This can be used with chicken, french fries, or a dressing for coleslaw. I am interested to see what it tastes like.
Sticky Fingers Irish Soda Bread: Since it was St Patrick's Day yesterday, I had to make this. It turned out well and was a very sweet bread. This has plump seedless raisins, caraway seeds, and whole oats. My husband loved it.
Cucina & Amore Artichoke Hearts: Okay, I will be honest. When I first saw these, I thought GROSS. I am not a fan of artichoke hearts. I showed my husband when he got home, and he was excited. He really likes articokes and said these had a nice pickled flavor. Taste Trunk included a recipe for smoked gouda, red pepper and arichoke pasta salad.
Elki Asparagus Pesto: I don't eat asparagus, so I wasn't going to try this. My husband, who has a much diverse palet, was willing to try it. C wasn't a big fan either. Taste Trunk included a recipe for chicken, sun-dried tomato & asparagus pesto sandwich.
Final Thought: This trunk was mixed for me. I loved the bread and crackers. The BBQ seems interesting. C and I were disappointed in the artichoke pesto but C likes the artichoke hearts. I am not sure if I am going to keep the gourmet trunk or switch next month. What did you think of this month? You can save 25% on your 1st trunk by using Boxmom25 in the promo code field.
