October Bestowed Review and Half Off Code
Bestowed is a subscription box full of healthy snack, food and beverages. It was founded by Heather Bauer. Heather is a registered dietitian and a best selling author of two books: The Wall Street Diet (Hyperion 2008) and Bread is the Devil (St. Martin's Press 2012). I was really excited when Bestowed asked me to review their box. This month, everything in the box is 100% GMO free! You might be wondering, what is a gmo? I didn't know myself, until recently. A GMO, is a “genetically modified organism”. It is plants or animals that have had DNA from bacteria, viruses, or other plants and animals, genetically engineered into the product. You can visit http://www.nongmoproject.org/ to learn more.

The Box |
I love the pretty orange box with the company's bright logo. So friendly and inviting!
First Look |
Second Look |
One of the first things I noticed, was how heavy the box felt. I love heavy boxes.
Information Guide |
More Details |
This is my favorite information guide of all subscription boxes. It has why they love each product (a full paragraph). They also include several places to buy the products, not just their own website. Lastly, there are tips on how to use each product. There was also information about GMOs in the book.
Nature's Path Love Crunch Dark Chocolate Macaroon Granola $4.69 |
This has 11.5 ozs! I was really surprised that the package was so big. I don't like coconut, so I expecting to hate this. It's actually not bad. My husband really likes it and he also doesn't like coconut. There are 14 grams of protein in a serving and has low sodium. Nature's Path donates the equivalent of food to a food bank across America, for every bag Love Crunch sold. They are also sponsoring GMO OMG, a documentary about a dad unearthing the truth about GMOs and what is in our food. The movie will be in select theaters in October!
Way Better Snacks Simply Beyond Black Bean Tortilla Chips $1.29 |
Again, I judged the package before eating. I don't eat black beans, I am a picky eater. I tasted these chips and they are so good! I ate them right out of the bag and with salsa. I could eat them any way. These are also loaded with protein and omega 3's! I am buying more of these.
Manitoba Harvest Hemp Pro 70 2 Free Samples |
I haven't tried this yet, but I will. You can mix this with orange juice, a smoothie or your morning cereal. This is packed with 10 amino acids as well.
The Good Bean Smoky Chili & Lime Chickpea Snacks $4.59 |
I love spicy food, so these smoky chili and lime chickpeas are an A+ in my book. These only have 150 calories and 6 grams of fat in each serving. These also come in sea salt and sweet cinnamon.
Fiber Love Cinnamon Raisin Bar $1.99 |
My husband liked this bar. Do you like oatmeal raisin cookies? This is the breakfast bar version. This has 130 calories and 48% of your daily fiber.
Unreal Peanut Butter Cups $1.19 |
These are AMAZING! Seriously, you have to try these. These are peanut butter cups without the junk like hydrogenated oils, corn syrup, GMOs, or artificial colors and flavors. Bestowed also included a recipe to use the unreal cups to make Peanut Butter Quinoa Cookies. Unfortunately, my peanut butter cups didn't make it for the recipe. They are outstanding.
Enjoy Life Not Nuts Seed and Fruit Beach Bash $2.00 |
This stuff is crazy good. This is an allergen friendly snack! L would really like this and I love that it doesn't have nuts. The seeds and fruit together make an amazing mix. I am going to order more of this. I love finding healthy snacks that I am willing to eat on a regular basis. Bestowed also suggested adding this to Greek yogurt or add to homemade pumpkin bread before putting it in the oven.
Ultima Replenisher 64 cents |
Bestowed mentioned that it is marathon season. I am actually a runner, although I am going from my first 5k to my first 5 mile race. Baby steps. Anyway, I was thrilled to get a product for runners. This helps replenish your body with 8 essential electrolytes. This is free from sugar and artificial ingredients. You mix a tablespoon with cold water, and you can drink this while running.
Coupons $10.00 for subscription |
I love coupons. Bestowed included the following in the box:
* $1.00 off Nature's Path or Envirokids product
*Fiber Love Bar Club offer. Join and get your favorite bars delivered each month 30% off. You fourth month is free
* Free 1 year subscription to Women's Health Magazine $10.00 value
The Whole Box |
Final Thought: The total value for this box is $26.39. This is one of my favorite food boxes. I love the educational information that Bestowed sends. The quality of the food are top notch and I love that they include several places to buy each snack. I really felt Bestowed cares about their product, education and the health of it's subscribers. I would highly recommend trying Bestowed. You can try Bestowed for only $10.00, just use the code HELLOTEN103. This code expires 11/20. If you want to sign up, just click the picture below.
